Job Description

We are multi-cultural and generation congregation of 300 seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Pastor to join our church in Sudbury, Ontario. This individual will play a pivotal role in leading and shepherding our congregation in the areas of worship, young adult ministry, and church connections. The Worship, Young Adults, and Connections Pastor will collaborate with the Lead Pastor and other staff to develop a culture of worship, spiritual growth, and relational connection for all ages, particularly focusing on young adults, newcomers, and visitors. The role requires a passionate leader who can inspire, engage, and equip others to live out their faith in the community. Key Responsibilities Worship Leadership • Lead and develop the worship ministry, overseeing all aspects of Sunday worship services, including music, media, and creative arts. • Recruit, mentor, and equip worship team members (musicians, singers, and technical crew) to create a dynamic and spiritually enriching worship experience. • Work with the Lead Pastor to create a seamless integration of worship, teaching, and prayer during weekend services. • Select and prepare worship sets in alignment with the themes of the sermon and church vision. • Organize and oversee special worship events (e.g., Christmas, Easter, etc.) and conferences as needed. • Ensure proper use and maintenance of worship equipment and facilities. • Foster a culture of worship that invites all members to engage in authentic, God-centered praise. Young Adults Ministry (18-35 years) • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the young adults' ministry (18-35 years old) with an emphasis on discipleship, spiritual growth, and community building. • Organize and lead/delegate regular young adults’ gatherings (e.g., connect groups, social events, retreats, etc.). • Provide pastoral care, and support to young adults, helping them navigate life transitions, faith challenges, and personal growth. • Develop leadership teams among young adults and equip them to lead, serve, and engage in ministry. • Collaborate with other ministries (e.g., youth, outreach) to create pathways for young adults to stay engaged in the church community as they transition from high school to adulthood. Connections Ministry • Oversee the connections ministry, ensuring that visitors and newcomers feel welcomed and integrated into the life of the church. • Lead and implement new member orientation and engagement processes, including connect groups, interest groups, and onboarding new members. • Work closely with the hospitality and volunteers’ team to create a warm, inviting atmosphere for all church attendees. • Manage the church’s communication systems (social media, emails, website) to keep congregants informed about upcoming events, opportunities, and ministry initiatives. • Track and engage newcomers, helping them to find their place within the church through spiritual growth groups, serving teams, and community involvement. Other Responsibilities • Participate in church weekly staff meetings, providing feedback, vision, and support for church-wide initiatives. • Work with the Lead Pastor to develop and implement strategies to grow the church both spiritually and numerically. • Assist with pastoral duties as needed. • Engage in ongoing personal spiritual development, attending professional development seminars, retreats, and relevant conferences. • Manage ministry budgets related to worship, young adults, and connections.

Required Skills

Skills and Competencies • Strong vocal and instrumental musical ability with experience leading worship in a contemporary setting. • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with people of all ages, particularly young adults. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including experience with social media and digital communication platforms. • A heart for pastoral care and discipleship, with a particular passion for young adults. • A team player who can collaborate effectively with other staff members and volunteers. • Ability to plan, organize, and execute ministry events, programs, and services. • A deep commitment to growing in spiritual maturity and fostering a healthy, vibrant church community. Personal Attributes • A strong relationship with Jesus Christ, with a passion for ministry and a servant heart. • Demonstrates a commitment to sound Biblical teaching and the mission of the local church. • Ability to have (or become) credentialed through the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. • A heart for outreach and welcoming new members into the church community. • Flexible, creative, and adaptable, especially in the fast-paced environment of a growing church. • A commitment to personal and professional growth in ministry.

Education Required

Education and Experience • A Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Ministry, Worship Arts, or related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Experience Required

• Experience in leading a young adults ministry and connections ministry in a church context is highly desirable. • Proven leadership experience in a church or ministry environment, with a heart for mentoring and developing leaders. worship-young-adults-and-connections-pastor_north-edge-church
