CHILDREN'S PASTOR Reports to: Executive Pastor Compensation:
● Hours: 40-45 Per Week
● Salary: Full-Time ($45-55,000), commensurate with experience.

PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Children’s Pastor plays an integral role in providing complete oversight of the children's ministry at GKM Church. They lead a dedicated team of volunteers in building strong relationships with children, creating engaging and impactful experiences that nurture children's faith, and support families in their spiritual journey as they worship together, grow together and share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
● Assist in establishing ministry goals and objectives, and individual tactics that support the mission and vision of GKM Church.
● Propose and administer the annual budget for respective ministries.
● Participation in staff meetings and other required staff events.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
● Alongside the leadership team, develop and effectively communicate a compelling vision and strategy for Children Ministries that highlights the importance of partnering with parents and integrating faith into everyday life.
● Stay informed about emerging trends in family ministry, particularly those relevant to effectively engaging children, and implement strategies accordingly.
● Provide leadership to the children's ministry teams, inspiring and guiding them in carrying out the mission of the church.
● Collaborate with other ministry leaders to establish a unified approach to family ministry that aligns with the overall vision of the church.
MINISTRY DEVELOPMENT & IMPLEMENTATION
● Oversee the planning, development, and implementation of age-appropriate programs and curriculum tailored to children from birth to grade 8, with a focus on establishing a solid biblical foundation, facilitating engaging experiences, and transitioning to each new developmental stage.
● Create intentional pathways for the spiritual growth of children and their families, incorporating various elements such as large-group gatherings, small groups, events, and resources that assist families in their discipleship journey.
● Provide relevant resources to families that would help them with their spiritual journey and engage them in discipleship beyond programs and events.
● Connect and be present with community organizations and schools, building relationships and showing the love of Jesus by helping meet practical needs, and serving our broader community.
VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT & DEVELOPMENT
● Recruit, train, and empower a team of committed volunteers who are passionate about ministering to children, and their families.
● Provide ongoing training, support, and mentorship to volunteers, equipping them with the necessary skills and resources needed to serve effectively in their roles.
PASTORAL CARE & FAMILY SUPPORT
● Maintain a culture of care and support for families, offering resources, guidance, and encouragement to parents as they navigate discipling their children.
● Create opportunities for families to connect, grow, and support one another, fostering a sense of community within the church.
SAFETY & SECURITY
● Maintain and regularly update safety protocols and procedures to safeguard the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of children within the ministry. Implement necessary measures to keep the protocols current and effective.
● Comply with all relevant legal requirements, including child protection laws, and ensure proper background checks are conducted for staff and volunteers.

● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to connect with children, parents, volunteers, and staff.
● Proficiency in digital platforms and technology, with a keen understanding of how to leverage digital tools and resources to enhance family ministry experiences and effectively engage with families in a digital environment.
● Ability to work collaboratively with other ministry leaders and teams within the church.
● Willing to learn or have knowledge of the software and programs used: (Google Suites, Planning Center Online, Asana, Rise People)
Education Required
● Must have a Bachelor of Arts degree or equivalent in a related field.
Experience Required
● Must have experience leading, directing and conducting a variety of teams.
