Skills Trainer

Sri Lanka

Purpose

At the BUD centre, everyone has a friend, and everyone is a friend. The community centre in rural Sri Lanka exists to build friendships with Buddhist neighbours and provide blessing to the surrounding community. Laying a strong foundation for the future of the children in this community is summed up in the motto: train up a child in the way he should go. After school activities at the BUD Centre include informal learning opportunities such as sports, foundational life skills, homework support, moral character lessons and art classes.

Skills

Because the BUD centre is an informal teaching setting, professional education skills are an asset, but not required. An ability to build friendships, work with children and provide an inclusive environment is needed. Specialized skills like sports, playing an instrument, and artistic talents, are always welcomed.

Support

Join a Sri Lankan & Canadian family who will help you with culture orientation and basic language skills. Both compassionate and empowering, this ministry team will warmly welcome you into their family. This opportunity is available for both volunteers and those who wish to serve long-term. Housing will be provided for volunteers and teams.

Our Mission Global team will walk with you along the way – from application to deployment. Training, administrative support and mission coaching will be provided, along with assistance for promotional and fundraising efforts.
