- Slide the beads on the leather in the order below.
- Tie a knot on the other side of beads to keep them in place.
- Trim excess leather and tie on the child wrist.
- Teach the Gospel story to the kids using the colours with the bible verses below.
- Have the children tell the story to their friends
The Story of The Colours
(these are the same colours you will need for the bracelet)
Black represents Sin and sin which separates us from God. For all have sinned and fall short of God’s standard. Rom. 3:23, 6:23
Red represents the Blood of Jesus. The Bible verse Romans 5:8; "Christ died for us." Explain that the red bead represents the blood Jesus shed when he died on the cross to clean up our sin.
White represents cleansing. If we accept Jesus and turn from our sins, our hearts are made clean. Share the Bible verse Isaiah 1:18; "Though your sins were like scarlet, they will be white as snow." Explain that white represents our clean hearts after Jesus' blood has removed our sin. Also…John 1:12, Romans 10:9
Green represents new life. After believing and receiving what Jesus did we need to grow in our relationship with Him by reading the Bible, praying, and attending a church where the Bible is taught. Thread The green bead next, and read the Bible verse Galatians 6:22 to 23; "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control." Share that green represents the growth in our lives when we start to live like Jesus. Also…Matt. 18:20, John 1:7
Yellow represents Gold (Heaven). God has prepared heaven for us. Rev. 21:21b Bible verse 1 Thessalonians 4:17; "We will always be with the Lord." Yellow represents the streets of gold in heaven. Explain that yellow represents Heaven where we will always be with God after we die.
Tie another knot as close as possible after the yellow bead. Double knot if necessary to keep the beads in place. As you tie Read the Bible verse John 10:28; "No one can take us out of God's hand."
Wrap the leather cord around your arm and tie the ends together to form a bracelet. Allow as much wrist room as you prefer. Then cut the excess leather cord, leaving approximately 1/2 inch on each end. This will allow enough cord to untie and retie the bracelet if you would like to take it off.
