MISSION CANADA CAMPUS ASSISTANT
Ministry Location: Vancouver Island University, Nanaimo, BC
Ministry Focus: Campus Ministry
How have your 20s shaped your life? These years are the building blocks for the rest of one's adult life. How can you positively share these building blocks of the next world leaders, parents, medical staff or even the waitress who takes your order?
Micaella's 20s were shaped by university, community, and her faith. While completing her degree in graphic design at Vancouver Island University (VIU), Micaella became part of the University Christian Ministries (UCM) club. Through UCM, Micaella found her home away from home. It was a safe place to ask questions and discover what walking with Christ looked like.
Experiencing a positive impact in her life and walk with Christ through UCM, she became involved in the club's student leadership and later a part of the staff. Specifically, she's interested in mentoring students and walking with them through life's journeys.
On campus, Micaella will be meeting with students, supporting group events, and creating a welcoming environment for both familiar and new faces. She's also co-leading an Alpha initiative on campus to create conversation about Jesus among students.
When not on campus, you can find Micaella enjoying the beautiful nature of Vancouver Island or being adventurous in the kitchen. She loves to connect with other from different cultures and varied moments that life brings. She is passionate about reducing food waste, specifically making sure imperfect food that is perfectly edible is on plates in her community, rather than in the trash.
