To know David Hazzard was to know a man who loved deeply, led well, and lived each day to its fullest with purpose and passion. On May 27, 2021, after a two-year battle with cancer, David breathed his last breath here on earth and met His Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, face to face. To honour David’s life and legacy, his desire was to see the work of the following three organizations and ministries thrive and bring life change to many. Should you choose to make a memorial donation on this PAOC donation page, your gift will be divided equally by the PAOC and forwarded to each of these three organizations.

ERDO (Emergency Relief and Development Overseas)
So much of David’s 67 years were spent in advocating and caring for the poor and marginalized, and sharing faith in Christ with those who needed hope and purpose. David, and his wife, Stacey, have been strong champions and supporters of missions work globally over the years that included relief, development and crisis response. David worked closely with colleagues in ERDO, and even farmed his own land in partnership with ERDO and the Canadian Foodgrains Bank so provision could be given for those in need.

SOURCE OF LIFE (TEEN CHALLENGE)
One of David’s passions was the training of future leaders. This was evident early in his ministry years as he took on a teaching role at Pan Africa Christian College in Nairobi, Kenya, and later on when he stepped into an interim leadership role at Master’s College and Seminary in Peterborough, Ontario. David was a valued adviser and supporter of all of the PAOC’s educational institutions. David expressed the desire for memorial funds to be directed to a Bible College in Siberia under the leadership of global workers, Ilya and Janet Bantseev. This educational institution serves as a missional training school, provides both a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Theology, and is a centre of hope for so many who have experienced freedom and purpose in life through their Teen Challenge Training School.

ADAM HOUSE
As the General Secretary Treasurer for The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, David approved hundreds of refugee resettlement cases for those who faced persecution and were forced to flee their homelands, later connecting with a PAOC local church and finding freedom, care and a new start in Canada. Adam House is an organization near and dear to David and Stacey’s hearts. Adam House, located in Toronto, Ontario, provides refugee claimants with clean and safe living accommodations, and assists newcomers to Canada with medical needs, community resources, legal services and more. It is through Adam House that residents develop friendships and receive support, finding hope for their future and opportunities to become self-sufficient.
