Our 4-14 Initiative – Helping Children Learn to Pray

A drawing of children with Jesus.

Our emphasis for this year’s PAOC 4-14 Initiative focuses on teaching children to pray. Children today need to know and experience God’s incredible love for them. How better to do so than learning how to talk to and be in relationship with the One who made them, loves them and has an amazing plan and purpose for their life. As you engage with your children, grandkids, your church family, or the next generation in your community, we encourage you to use The Prayer Covenant for Children as your resource and guide. It includes an online curriculum for parents and is an effective in-person discipleship tool for pastors and church leaders in teaching this generation the importance of prayer and how to pray.

As the PAOC, we desire to see a generation of children raised up to become strong Christian influencers wherever the Lord may take them in their life journey. It is in those years when a child is between age 4 and 14 that they are most open and receptive to learning spiritual truths and engaging in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Prioritize your day and pour into a child today. Shape a life now, and for eternity.

Consider the focus of our April 26 social media post on “Influence”:

God calls us to be messengers of His grace, His truth, and His justice. Are you listening to His voice calling you? Will you obediently respond to His call so you can influence this world. You are never too young to do so!  Matthew 18:1-6 tells us about Jesus’ love for children. Click here to watch this video story

Many of our PAOC Mission Canada and Mission Global workers (missionaries) heard God’s call on their lives when they were children. Click on these links to see who God has called to go to places in our nation and around the globe to reach people with the love of Christ—people in unique settings and places where the good news of Jesus needs to be made known:
