Lead Pastor

The next Lead Pastor of Generations Church will be an experienced, Holy Spirit-led individual of character, integrity and authenticity. They will possess strong Biblical knowledge, exceptional teaching and preaching skills, and demonstrate effective leadership with a servant’s heart and a passion for the Gospel. The next Lead Pastor of Generations Church will be responsible for the overall spiritual and executive leadership of the congregation and staff, the fulfillment of our purpose and vision, alignment of the values of the church and the realization of its goals. The position is accountable to the Generations Church Board. The next Lead Pastor of Generations Church will serve as the primary preacher and teacher of the Word of God. They will deliver or oversee the delivery of engaging, biblically-based weekly sermons during worship services, as well as on special occasions and events, in collaboration with other ministry staff. They will perform other pastoral duties, including weddings, funerals, baptisms and dedications as required.

1. Must be a person who meets the scriptural prerequisites for the position found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1, 1 Peter 5:2 and Matthew 28:19-20 2. Must hold current credentials and be ordained with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC), the Assemblies of God (AOG) or be an applicant approved by the executive officers of the BC/Yukon PAOC District 3. Must have recent and significant ministry experience 4. Must be an experienced, Holy Spirit-led individual of character, integrity and authenticity 5. Must possess strong and in-depth scriptural knowledge 6. Must have exceptional communication, teaching and preaching skills 7. Must have strong computer and technical skills, including Microsoft and Google platforms 8. Must demonstrate the ability to lead, mentor, supervise, and support ministry staff 9. Must have strong organizational and decision-making skills 10. Must work in partnership with the Board to oversee the administration & management of church operations, as well as budgeting & financial planning 11. Must be approachable, welcoming and authentic in relationships with others

Bachelor’s degree or an advanced degree in theology, religious studies, or a related field (Preferred)
