Africa is changing and growing daily, as millions of foreign workers move across the world to find new opportunities. More than one million Chinese workers and families are arriving on the continent with short-term employment contracts. Housed in private compounds by their employers and separated from local communities, this population is set to double in three years. Will you partner with us in this unprecedented opportunity to engage and care for this unreached community?
BCA is an innovative approach to engaging this people group. It is a joint venture of Chinese, African and Canadian churches. Each partner contributes to the mission. China provides the leaders, Africa helps guide the cultural integration and provides local knowledge, while Canada serves as a bridge, equipping and co-ordinating the vision.
BCA has established a cultural centre and tea house in Zambia, addressing the needs of Chinese workers. Isolated, they struggle with the local language, African customs, and growing hostility between the two cultures. At the BCA cultural centre, they find community, social and emotional support, as well as practical help adjusting to life in a new country. The BCA staff have the opportunity to have many conversations with workers about faith. There are no words to describe the joy of seeing people transformed by grace.
Our dream is to replicate the BCA cultural centre across Africa wherever a high population of Chinese workers exists. The BCA training centre will be dedicated in March 2017 as a training base for future leaders from China to be sent out into Africa.
Our goal is to raise $35,000. These funds will provide a 16-passenger vehicle, significantly increasing the outreach capacity of the cultural centre. It will also enable us to complete renovations and further develop the training centre.
Please consider partnering with us and impacting countless people with the gospel.
