Youth and Young Adults Pastor New Life Community Church Brampton Ontario New Life Community Church is currently looking for a person who is passionate about ministry to youth and young adults to join our pastoral team. We are a growing multi cultural and multi generational church in the city of Brampton Ontario that elevates ministry to youth and young adults in our core values. The youth and young adult culture is highly involved in life of our church and it is often highlighted and celebrated. Our young people know that New Life is their church. Ministry Focus: Loyalty, respect, commitment and support will be the foundation upon which the pastoral ministry team relationships are built. Weekly prayer times, regular staff meetings and special planning retreats will serve to forge a working environment of cooperation and clear communication. In addition to the specific areas of assigned responsibility that are outlined below, it is understood that all pastoral staff members share a commitment to effectively minister to the entire church family. Every member of the pastoral team will assist in the pastoral responsibilities of prayer, visitation, pastoral counseling and general ministry duties. Pastoral staff may be involved other areas of ministry inside or outside the church as their schedule allows. All requests must be submitted to the senior pastor for approval before any commitments are made. We believe that a true servant’s heart is the prerequisite for effective ministry. Personal development: You will regularly spend time in the personal disciplines that will expand personal and ministry life. Ongoing ministry enhancements should be pursued through the systematic study of the scriptures, the reading of periodicals, books and ministry enrichment materials. Ministry Responsibilities: Youth : • Leadership – You will develop youth leaders who invest in the lives of junior and senior youth. You will make sure that all youth workers have properly been trained in our protection policies, and that they have been properly approved for ministry with youth. • Relationships – You will build a culture of relationship within youth. You will personally build relationships with youth and their parents. You will recruit leaders who are relational. You will host events that build relationship and are fun for youth. • Spiritual Growth – you will work with a team to develop a discipleship plan for youth that could include retreats, mission trips, and other opportunities • Outreach – you will develop ways for unchurched youth to have conversations about God. This could include Youth Alpha, Youth Events, etc • Communications – You will develop systems of communication with youth and their parents. Young Adults : • You will work and develop leaders to minister and lead an open young adult community group in our church. • You will run young adult events that could include banquets, outings, meetups, bonfires, retreats, etc. Accountability: This pastor will work under the lead pastor in conjunction with the associate pastor. It is imperative that a working relationship exist which exhibits integrity, confidentiality and loyalty. This pastor shall also be a credential holder in good standing with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. Mentoring, personal development and oversight will be the joint responsibility of the associate pastor and lead pastor. Conditions of Employment: The official board of NLCC shall establish a full-Time salary and benefits package. This salary is based on education and work experience and shall be reviewed annually. In addition to the salary, the church will also pay for cell phone and a book allowance. Applicants should have a diploma or degree relating to pastoral ministry or should be near to finishing a diploma or degree.
