Part-time (3 day a week) potential for full-time as our church and youth ministry grow. Position available immediately Qualifications • A heart for God and people. • Able to work well in a team environment. • Gifts of leadership, teaching and administration and a willingness to develop those gifts. • The ability to develop a thoughtful and relevant ministry that engages students. • Must be self-starting and diligent in handling ministry responsibilities. General Responsibilities of all Staff: • To honour Christ in word and deed and model a theologically, spiritually and missional lifestyle. • To approach ministry with a teachable spirit and a collaborative mindset • To attend and contribute to weekly staff meetings • To publicly uphold and support the vision of the church • To be open to any other duties the Lead Pastor assigns as we adapt to new opportunities Role Summary: • To develop a philosophy of ministry that is consistent with vision and values of the church. • To have regular contact with the students. • Plan social events, retreats and conventions • To keep our youth spaces in good working order • To establish a balanced approach to discipleship and outreach. • To partner with families in the nurture and development of their teens. • Maintain an up-to-date database that will serve the Student Ministry. • Utilize our foyer time on Sunday’s to connect with the students and their families. Friday Night Senior High Youth Ministry • Plan, prepare and provide leadership to the weekly Student Ministry gatherings. • Prayerfully plan and program a ministry that reaches and equips. • Recruit, train and deploy a team of leaders who will serve on Leadership and worship teams. • Organize at least one annual retreat for student ministries in addition to WOD youth conference. • Work diligently to create a youth program that seeks to involve as many youth as possible. • Provide for pastoral care for teens who want to meet outside of the formal gathering times. Sunday Morning Junior High Youth Ministry • Develop a leadership strategy for adults and students who in the Jr. high ministry. • Continue to develop our Sunday school teachers to teach curriculum-based material. • Build bridges to our graduating Kidco aged students who are transitioning into Jr. high ministries.
