Job Description

Summer Position from late May till September 2, 2020. Leading and planning each Sunday morning service with prayers, songs, offering, and sermon the last Sunday of May and the month of June. May, June, July, and August the student is required to organize and print the weekly Sunday bulletins. July and August as well the student will be responsible to connect with Guest Ministers/Speakers who will be leading the service. They will be a vital part of the service introducing the speaker, greeting people of the congregation and making sure everything is organized for that morning. Even watering plants and lawn mowing prior to Sunday morning will be part of the job description. If there are children present the student is required to prepare for Sunday School for them including bible story songs and crafts. Vacation Bible School is also under the leadership of our Pastoral student during the months of July and August from 10 am till noon every day during the week. Flyers will be made by the student to advertise the vacation bible school and distribute the flyers throughout the community. So a bike or a car would be helpful. Preteen Youth Group will also be another aspect of this position getting to know the young adults and perhaps share a campfire together. There are many aspects to this Summer Pastoral Position which will give the candidate varied responsibilities and experiences.

Required Skills

To be a self-motivator and is able to prepare and plan and focus when there is no leadership available each day to guide them. Having experience with children would be beneficial. Enjoys them and likes to have fun with them. Knowing how to plan and organize Sunday services, bulletins, vacation bible school, and youth program. Friendly and reachable to all children and congregational family and board. Mature to live alone in the cottage provided free of charge on the church property. Responsible to keep all buildings clean and tidy. Being available to lead songs and hymns during the Sunday morning service as well as prepare and present a sermon. The student needs to be able to receive guidance from mentors with a good attitude. An excellent communicator is an asset with mentors and board.

Education Required

Biblical Training or Credentials if possible.

Experience Required

Enjoys children and has had some experience with Children's Ministry or working with children in some aspect. Some biblical training/a dedicated believer of Jesus Christ/ Born again. Singles or Couples are invited to apply.
