Registered Early Childhood Education (RECE)

The Early Childhood Educator (RECE) at Evangel Day Care Centre (EDCC) works with and programs for children from Toddler 18 months to 6 year old Kindergarten students and for the 6 – 12 year old School Age child. Their role is to promote the physical, mental, and social development of the children in their care in a safe, healthy environment. The staff engages in activities with the children, to stimulate students' interest in and broaden understanding of their physical and social environment. They foster cooperative social behavior through games and group projects to assist children in sharing and turn taking helping children to promote satisfying relationships with other children and adults. The Staff encourages students in singing, dancing, rhythmic activities, and in use of art materials, that foster self esteem through creative self-expression and appreciation of esthetic experience. They instruct children in practices of personal cleanliness and self care. The Staff alternates periods of activity with periods of rest or light activity to avoid overstimulation and fatigue. The staff keeps open and daily communication with parents recognizing that they are the expert in their children’s lives.

• College diploma: Early Childhood Education and member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE). • Criminal background check required • First Aid CPR and Anaphylaxis training certification required
