HIGHWAY CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP Next Gen Coordinator/ Pastor Job Posting Highway Christian Fellowship in Sidney, BC is looking for a Next Gen Director/Pastor to join our ministry team. POSITION SUMMARY The Next Gen Coordinator/ Pastor is responsible to provide leadership and direction to HCF’s children’s ministry from birth to Grade 7. This is a part time salaried position equivalent to 20-25 hours per week including Sundays. The designation pastor or Director is based on the candidate’s ability to obtain credentials with the PAOC. The successful candidate will be responsible to the Lead Pastor. Weekly hours to be agreed upon between the candidate and the Lead Pastor. Start date to be determined. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Maintain a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. • A heart for God, for children and students with a passion to see each come to know God • Recruit, train and empower lay leaders and volunteers. • Select and/or write appropriate curriculum. • Ensure that the concerns of parents are properly addressed. • Ensure that the Plan to Protect policy is followed to provide safety of our children, staff and volunteers. • Help out wherever needed either by their own initiative or as directed by the Lead Pastor OBJECTIVES • Initiate and develop an intentional plan for discipleship to community children. • Develop and implement a Sunday Kids Church Ministry for children from birth to grade 7 • Organize regular events focused on serving and connecting with families in our church and community • Identify, recruit, train and resource volunteers to effectively and efficiently run the Sunday programs. • Build a strategic calendar of events and activities to help introduce community children and their families to Jesus and our Church (i.e. Summer Day Camp, Hockey & Hot-Dog Nights, After School and PA Day activities, Movie Nights, etc). • Must hold a strong evangelical/Pentecostal faith commitment and perspective. • A vibrant faith in and love for Jesus and a Christian life that reflects this. • A call to church ministry and a pursuit of training to this end. • A love for children and youth and a willingness to invest in their spiritual development. • The ability to teach the Bible and inspire others in their faith and life decisions. • Must be able to use technology effectively for ministry purposes • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team-based environment. • A recent criminal record check. If a prior criminal record is revealed, this may result in a reconsideration of this person’s appointment. • Ability to lead worship and play keyboard or guitar (an asset but not essential).
Post Secondary education in related field. Bible College/ Seminary preferred
• A strong Christian background. • Have experience working with children and leading/developing team leadership. • Education in a related field is an asset. ( Bible College / Seminary preferred) • Ability to obtain credentials in BC Yukon District of the PAOC.
