The Lead Pastor provides spiritual and operational oversight to all matters of the church and leads the church to be outward bound. The Lead Pastor will work in collaboration with the Church Board (as chairperson) to facilitate the ongoing spiritual health and wholeness of the congregation, outreach to the community and to ensure appropriate ministries, programs, leadership structures and resources are in place to fulfill the mission and vision of the church.
• Possess excellent communication skills – preaching, teaching, writing and experience with desktop publishing an asset. • Ability to lead and influence others, identify others’ gifts and abilities and cultivate them • Communicate effectively with individuals, small groups, large gatherings both within the local church context, in the community and beyond. • Ability to problem solve, network with others and flexibility to adapt when necessary • Obtain a criminal record check that is without offence. • Organized and able to develop and administer systems to facilitate ministry. • Teachable, coachable, a team player who can raise up volunteers and lay leadership.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent in related pastoral or theological studies. Credentialed or credentiable with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada
• Experience working in pastoral ministry with a track record of ministry effectiveness and fruitfulness; committed to ongoing learning and development • Cross-cultural ministry experience, or ability to embrace and gain understanding of other cultures and people groups is an asset
