Job Description

Areas of Authority: The Family Program Manager holds a key leadership position in the organization. Under the direction of the Program Director, board and the Executive Director, the Family Program Manager assumes responsibility for the delivery of the organization’s programs and services. They are responsible to ensure that all policies and regulations pertaining to the programs are carried out. The Family Program Manager has the authority to direct, and is responsible for the management of all program staff members and program volunteers. The Family Program Manager must communicate the mission and mandate of the organization to all staff and volunteers. The Family Program Manager is responsible for the management of the spiritual direction of the staff and volunteers under them. The Family Program Manager is responsible for the Character Club program, HomeBuilders program, Active Families program, and Family Connect program. This includes administration, planning, development, implementation, evaluation, staff management and training, marketing and promotions, and some grant writing, grant reporting, and stakeholder relations (i.e. providing the Program Director with written descriptive for grants as required.) Duties and Responsibilities: • Manages day-to-day operations in the programs • Schedules and books all programs with direction from the Program Director • Plan and implement the lessons and activities using KOT planning forms including religious instruction and mentoring in Christian character • Ensure a variety of learning activities including music, drama, art, games, storytelling and sharing times are incorporated • Develops goals and measurable outcomes in each program in cooperation with the Program Director • Identifies the required resources to achieve the goals • Select, develop and source all curriculum and resource material for programs in cooperation with the Program Director • Monitor the program activities on a regular basis • Evaluates and modifies programs in response to assessment, feedback, and community need • Design and develop promotional materials for programs • Implement the marketing plan in cooperation with the Program Director • Attend community meetings to promote upcoming programs and develop relationships with stakeholders & community members • Adhere to budget and operating plan for each program • Oversee program staff including providing feedback informally and formally • Provide training, direction and supervision of junior staff, youth volunteers and adult volunteers • Ensure all policy and procedures of Kids On Track are being followed • Communicate with parents, program coordinators, and staff as necessary • Participate and assist in fundraising activities to support the programs • Assist with supervision and training of Leaders In Training Youth volunteering in the programs • Report directly to Program Managers and the Program Director • Attends all core staff meetings and any additional meetings as required

Required Skills

Requirements/Skills: • Must be in agreement with the Christian mission of the organization • Must be an experienced leader, able to direct and instruct others in organizing tasks to be completed • Must be experienced in leading children and youth with an ability to relate to those who are disadvantaged and those who are presenting behavioral challenges • Must be able to adhere to the design principles of making sure the program is developmentally appropriate, safe, and welcoming of diversity and uniqueness • Must have developed administrative and management skills, must be organized, must communicate well and in a timely manner • Must be physically fit and able to lead a wide range of recreational pursuits • Must have driver’s license and access to own vehicle (mileage reimbursed), Class 4 or Class 2 (Bus license) an asset • High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development an asset • Must have current CPR Level C & First Aid certificate, and submit a clear Police Security Check and an Intervention Record Check • Must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or protected persons under the Canadian Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and legally entitled to work and study in Canada

Experience Required

Spiritual Oversight: • Provides pastoral care and spiritual wisdom for families involved in the various programs with Kids On Track • Is consistent in their reliance on biblical wisdom and spiritual guidance as they lead staff, volunteers, and participants • Must understand this is a ministry position of Christian Service • Must have a clear understanding of how Kids On Track fulfils the “Great Commission” as outlined in Matthew 28:18-20 • Must have a plan and methodology to manage personal stress and live a healthy and spiritual lifestyle • Must have a personal and vibrant relationship with God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). • Must have demonstrated Godly wisdom and discernment • Must be a good manager of their own household and affairs and have a good reputation in the community
