The emerging generations pastor intern will oversee a student and young adult ministry program according to all needs within the community. The candidate will oversee, train, and provide ongoing support of a team of volunteers working within the community. The candidate will be expected to evaluate the needs that students in the community presents, in order to develop a relevant program. As well, the candidate will provide support for families in need of extra care by referring them to other services that believe in the strength and value of families. The candidate will provide oversight to Cornerstone Community Church satellite locations. This position will entail a schedule with variable work hours – including weekend, evening, and all-day events.
1. Competence and willingness to grow in the area of public speaking and motivational talks. 2. General knowledge with Microsoft Office, Apple applications, and social media capability. 3. Good organizational skills including the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
1. Intern must have a Degree or Diploma in a related field of study – i.e. Child and Youth Worker, Social Worker, Human Service, Behavioural Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, Pastoral Ministry 2. University or college graduate who has graduated within the last three years from an accredited college or university. The candidate must be a graduate of a post-secondary degree or diploma program. The position will be a first full-time employment in the candidate’s field of study.
1. Strong people skills; an approachable personality. 2. Demonstrated ability to develop leadership qualities through mentoring. 3. Some experience working with students, young adults, and aboriginal Canadians would be an asset.
