Job Description

We are seeking a Communications and Engagement Specialist to maintain and grow our social media presence, including creation and management of our website, as well as assisting with graphic design and other media as required. A successful candidate will curate social media content to gain new followers and engage existing followers. You will create new social marketing campaigns, maintain brand recognition, and manage all published content. Utilizing photos, videos, and graphics with the intent to engage followers, you would create a unique and recognizable social footprint. You will work with and report on web analytic tools to track campaign progress and research industry trends. A successful social media manager will collaborate with all departments to align with church messages, promotions, and goals. Successful candidate will create and manage content for the church website and assist with graphic design projects, keeping all content current and accurate and maintaining a consistent and unified brand across all platforms. We are looking for an energetic, innovative, creative, and personable individual who is highly involved and very passionate about community engagement.

Required Skills

- Work related social media engagement experience is an asset. - Enthusiastic about social media and familiar with the various culture, unique language, and function of each media platform - Working knowledge of data platforms such as Google Analytics, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook Insights, and willing to learn and engage new platforms as they arise - Experience in website creation and maintenance - Training and experience in photography and graphic design is recommended - Experience working in video editing and accompanying software is an asset. - Knowledge and training in marketing and/or communications is an asset. - Demonstrate creativity and strong problem-solving skills - Keen attention to detail when proofreading, copyediting and fact-checking - Good technical abilities; able to learn new skills quickly - Professional demeanor, self-starter with strong organizational ability - Ability to work independently and complete and prioritize assigned tasks within identified time frames and deadlines - Demonstrate empathy, patience, advocacy, diplomacy, and strong conflict resolution skills pertaining to all communication and interactions - Highly adaptable team player; receptive to feedback and change - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Person of high moral character and integrity in adherence to the core values representative of Parkwood Gospel Church

Education Required

Post secondary education in web design and technology, graphic design, digital media, and marketing would be an asset.

Experience Required

Previous work related social media engagement experience would be an asset.
