Job Description

We are currently seeking a dynamic, innovative individual to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for three main areas of responsibility – fundraising, volunteers and community relations. Responsibilities: • Maintain and build on the agency’s capacity to engage donors and generate funds • Communicate with existing donors • Increase donors through individuals, corporations and foundations • Generate a sustainable and strategic fundraising plan • Write funding proposals to granting organizations • Effectively manage, engage and support volunteers • Maintain and update publications such as the website, newsletters and social media • Coordinate and develop promotional items as required • Liaison with community organizations • Generate, oversee and where applicable conduct speaking engagements • Plan and execute special events • Contribute to strategic planning

Required Skills

Qualifications and skills: • Minimum two years’ experience in non-profit sector, working with fundraising, communications and volunteers • Strong computer & database literacy • Strong organizational skills • Excellent communications skills - written and verbal • Ability to work independently, self-motivated, ability to prioritize tasks • Excellent administrative skills, record keeping & attention to detail • Understanding of stewardship • Critical thinking and problem solving skills • Team player • Innovative and forward thinking, understanding of strategic planning an asset • Social media skills • A commitment to JFJ Hope Centre vision, mission and values
