Christian Centre Church is located in the Jane-Finch Community – a highly populated, diverse and largely low-income neighbourhood in North Toronto. Our congregation of approximately 450 is a mix of local residents, suburban commuters and York University students. We have a strong focus on community outreach. At this time we are asking God to send us a Children’s Pastor who is both equipped and passionately called to serve in this unique ministry context. Job Description: • Oversee all Children’s Ministry initiatives from infancy to Gr. 5, including Sunday School classes, open sessions, mid-week program, outreach programming and special events • Effectively recruit, manage, train, develop, motivate, and debrief all Children’s Ministry volunteers on an ongoing basis • Actively build relationships with children and their families, including home visits and follow-up • Facilitate community outreach initiatives for children and families • Integrate children and families from our outreach programming into our church community • Ensure all volunteer security clearances are complete and up to date and that there is full compliance to our Plan to Protect Policies • A portion of portfolio will include general office administration
Requirements: • Comfortable with Pentecostal theology and spirituality • Committed to the empowerment of women, racial minorities and the poor • Passionate about reaching and discipling children • Strong sense of initiative and self-motivation • Socially confident and authoritative • Strong team building and managerial skills • Communication and public speaking skills • Efficient with computers and technology • Basic office administration skills – typing, proofreading, phone/email, etc.

Assets: • Experience working in a camp or large kids ministry setting • Experience in a multi-cultural, urban context (esp. inner city) • Willingness to stay long term, and/or move to the community • Biblical Degree/Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution • Managerial experience in a church or non-profit organization • Experience with special education – ADHD, special needs, mental health • Willingness to take courses in Theology and/or Children’s Ministry • Abilities in music, dance or drama
