Position Description: The Associate Pastor serves the vision and mission of the Lead Pastor and Board in the following portfolios: a) Ministry Operations b) Preaching and Teaching c) Pastoral Care and Counselling d) Worship Ministry Leadership Salary: Full Time $60,000-$70,000 Benefits: Eligible following six-month probation Start Date: Winter-Spring 2019 Please email a one page cover letter and one page resume to: Rev. Key Responsibilities: a) Supports the Lead Pastor and Board in the overall mission and vision of the church b) Collaborates with the Lead Pastor in the planning and delivery of Sunday services c) Provides management of weekly ministry operations and weekly ministry teams d) Recruits, trains, and develops volunteers to grow and expand current ministries and develop new ministries e) Delivers Spirit-anointed and Bible-based preaching and teaching to various groups including pulpit opportunities, mid-week Bible studies, and other occasions f) Creates a discipleship ministry to foster spiritual maturity among new believers g) Develops an integrated church growth model that assimilates newcomers through discipleship, mentorship, membership, and leadership h) Provides caring and sensitive pastoral care to people in need of prayer support i) Offers pastoral counselling to people in need of guidance and encouragement j) Provides leadership and administration to our worship ministry leaders, worship ministry teams, and technical team ministries k) Performs other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor and Board
Mandatory Qualifications: a) Ordained Minister with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada b) Minimum 10 years full-time employment as a Pastor in PAOC Pentecostal ministry c) Canadian Citizenship or Canadian Permanent Residency Status d) Post-secondary education related to ministry position from an accredited institution e) Current Criminal Records Check available upon request f) Class G driver’s license and ownership of vehicle for ministry-related travel/errands Core Competencies: a) Thrives in an urban, multi-cultural, and multi-staff Pentecostal ministry context b) Exhibits a strong ability to recruit, train, and lead volunteer ministry teams c) Possesses excellent organizational and administrative skills; resourceful; team-oriented approach to ministry; exceptional problem-solving skills d) Presents a Spirit-filled and Spirit-anointed platform presence for preaching ministry e) Possesses a proven track record of biblically-centred, faith-building teaching ministry f) Provides compassionate, intuitive, Spirit-sensitive, and prayerful pastoral care g) Possesses education and experience in pastoral counselling; cognizant of limits and boundaries; ability to empower people to overcome personal barriers h) Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, team-oriented, relational, client-centred i) Self-motivating, energetic, positive, trustworthy, humble, and enthusiastic j) Possesses the ability to use appropriate judgment, discretion, and confidentiality k) Excellence in worship ministry leadership, administration, recruitment, and training
