PURPOSE STATEMENT: The role of the Assistant Pastor in Kanata is to oversee and champion all the elements of service programming of the Campus under the direction and leadership of the Campus Pastor. This will require an ‘all in’ approach to the mission, vision and values of Lifecentre, as well as a firm grasp of Lifecentre’s strategies and commitment to growing together with Jesus to make a difference in our city. The Assistant Pastor will lead all components of worship programming (music, audio, video, lighting, creative), as well as ensure all LifeGroup leaders and Groups are living in community with a heart to make a Jesus-sized difference in one another’s lives. Central to a Lifecentre worship experience is cultivating an expectant and engaged worship culture. We are hungry for the presence of God and we are expectant for Him to move in our midst. QUALIFICATIONS: Is a member of Lifecentre. In process, is willing to enrol, or has completed Bible School/ Degree Program. Pastoral Ministry Experience (full or part time) is a plus. Possess Christ-like, servant attitude Devoted to the call of God and the vision/mission/strategic approach of Lifecentre Has a passion for Jesus, people and our city Self-motivated, leader and team builder Possess excellent communication and writing skills Able to initiate, execute and manage effective systems that better care for people Willing to learn new programs as needed Results-focused leadership with persuasive interpersonal skills adaptable to a variety of personalities and situations. RESPONSIBILITIES: As Lifecentre continues to grow and plant new campuses, there is an increased need for an Assistant Pastor to help bring focused leadership to the Weekend Experiences and the LifeGroups that are in place to serve the Campus. The Assistant Pastor’s main focus of responsibilities include: 1. Model Biblical Priorities Responsible for upholding Biblical priorities and care values of Lifecentre. The Connections Pastor should represent a growing personal relationship with Jesus, model a strong relationship with their spouse and children and strive to fulfill his or her purpose in life and ministry while demonstrating integrity in words, relationships and actions. Committing to a daily quiet-time with God Participating in a Lifecentre small group on a regular basis Setting appropriate boundaries to protect character and integrity Developing personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church Modelling servanthood and generosity through time, talent and treasure Adhering to and encompassing the qualities and characteristics required of Lifecentre employees, as defined by the Lifestyle Manual 2. Oversight and Execution of Worship Experience’s Responsible for programming, leading, and curating unforgettable and meaningful moments for people to experience life each weekend, through worship, stories, and creative arts. Facilitating and continuing improving the systems that lead people from being a consumer to a contributor Oversight of a weekly rehearsal, Sunday morning services, events, conferences, and United Lifecentre events. Serve on the Series Planning Team responsible for song selection and creative series content development. Recruit, train and release new musicians, worship leaders Build a worship team to support all the Campus is doing. 3. Oversight and Execution of LifeGroups Responsible for creating an environment that fosters connection and community through small groups. and provides clear next steps toward connection and spiritual groth. Leading, equipping and empowering LifeGroup Leaders. Removing roadblocks from our LifeGroups Establishing, with the Campus Pastor, the approved seasonal studies for Groups. 4. Contribute to and Support the Continued Growth of Lifecentre Responsible for being a team player who continually looks for ways to make Lifecentre better, while contributing their unique spiritual gifts and personality to advance the church’s mission and vision. Assist in developing ideas and content for our services and events Serve on the Teaching Team as required or requested. This includes Sundays, Bible School, Conferences, and Training Events Assist with timely and effective Pastoral Care. This includes, but not limited to: weddings, funerals, visitations and baby dedications Assist the Campus Pastor as needed with responsibilities that strengthen the campus and church organization.
