The Neighbourhood Church in beautiful Saskatoon is looking for a happy and dedicated Christian leader to join our team as Children’s Pastor. This person will oversee all Children’s Ministries Grade 5 and under including; 1 - Nursery Ministries and Children’s Services for all three weekend gatherings, 2 – a mid-week Children’s Program, and 3 – working with the Youth Pastor in the Junior Youth program. This is a full-time position that we would love to have filled by January 1st if possible. (Note, this position could be handled as a .75 position if that was the preference of the successful candidate). The January 1st date isn’t as important to us as knowing we have found someone who will be a great member of our team. E-mail resumes to our Church Administrator, Dawn Martell, email@example.com. Please include two sample Orders of Service of how you would lead and order a seventy minute Children’s Church time of K-5 kids. You can get to know us better at our website – theneighbourhoodchurch.org And one last thing, if your friends won’t tell us you smile often and laugh easily please don’t apply.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated a vibrant and creative approach to children’s ministry, a concern for the spiritual health and discipleship of children, and a life maturity that helps them relate to the challenges and responsibility of parents and guardians. They should have a strong sense of a call to work in a ministry setting, burn red hot with a passion to reach those outside of Christ with the gospel, and a track record of completing projects with excellence and punctuality. The Children’s Pastor must love working with others and understand the importance of getting children and adults involved in ministry. All candidates must ensure that our ministry to kids is Bible based and soaked in prayer.
A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministry, Education, or Early Childhood Education is required although the equivalency of a proven track record of effective children’s ministry will be considered.
Ministry experience is an asset. Musical gifting would be a bonus. The preferred applicant will have a credential with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada or be eligible to be credentialed.
