Vision: To build a strong, dynamic and growing family mentoring centre that is so irresistible to kids that they go to school and invite their friends, and parents gladly join them in learning about Jesus and have their lives changed by Him. This ministry will focus on reaching the children and young families of Whitecourt with the love of Jesus and turning them into vibrant disciple makers. This ministry is a central component in the growth strategy of the overall ministry of FWC. Function: • This position is primarily focused on making enthusiastic disciple making kids and parents by building an enthusiastic and effective team for welcoming and integrating new families to FWC through Children’s ministry and family mentoring. It may also include writing good biblically based curriculum for this ministry Responsibilities: • To lead a dynamic networking children’s and family ministry within Whitecourt as an integral part of FWC. • Working closely with the lead pastor to coach, oversee and empower leaders in the above FWC ministry. • To communicate with, develop and deepen relationships within families, FWC and the whole community of Whitecourt. • To exercise prayerful and diligent oversight of areas assigned to you: Children’s Ministry as well as Welcome & Integration • To be a godly, fun and inspiring example to those under your care (1 Tim 4:12ff). • To develop a visionary team approach to this ministry. • To synergistically develop the ministry direction with the Pastor of FWC and a team of volunteer leaders. • Do necessary administration for the various ministry responsibilities.

Qualifications: 1. Spiritual maturity and Christian character as evidenced by the fruit of the Spirit and by the qualities required of Christian leaders (1 Tim 3:1-7) 2. Support of the vision and values of FWC. 3. An awareness of their personality and spiritual gifts and how they interact with others. 4. A willingness and ability to contribute to the development of a team-based, equipping ministry philosophy. 5. A joyful spirit and humble attitude. 6. People skills for connecting with young families. 7. Gifts of leadership (Eph. 4:11-14) specifically in mentoring, coaching and encouragement. 8. Flexible and able to adjust in stride with the changing dynamics of working with people. 9. Become part of the Whitecourt and Family Worship Centre community. 10. Meet weekly with the Lead Pastor of FWC to receive and discuss vision and direction for the ministry as well as be accountable for the growth and development of the ministry. 11. Develop a recruitment strategy for new volunteers that includes volunteer screening, job assignment, training, feedback, evaluation and recognition. 12. Willingness to obtain credentials with PAOC.
