Job Description: Children’s Director – Full Time

Mission: Children’s Director is responsible for the development and implementation of the vision, strategy, and tactical elements for all programs, activities and educational aspects related to Children’s Ministry at Richmond Hill Pentecostal Church.

Remuneration: $40,000-$50,000 per year, salaried, full-time position

Benefits: Eligible following successful six-month probationary period

Required Skills

Competencies, Qualifications, and Expectations
a) Reflects identity, mission, and vision of the church; embraces cultural sensitivities
b) Thrives in a multi-cultural multi-staff Pentecostal ministry context
c) Minimum College or University education related to ministry position such as Early Childhood Educator Diploma or Child and Youth Worker Diploma or equivalent
d) Minimum 3 years paid employed in the field of children’s ministry
e) Current Police Reference or Criminal Records Check available upon request
f) Passion for ministry to children and desire to see both parents and children grow in faith
g) Computer and technology skills including social media, WORD©, EXCEL©, etc.
h) Familiarity with Plan to Protect© abuse prevention and vulnerable sector protection program
i) Excellent interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, team-oriented, resourceful in problem solving, relational, client focused, self-motivating, positive attitude, and reliable
j) Possess the ability to use appropriate judgment, discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality
k) Strong ability to recruit, train, build, and lead volunteer ministry teams
l) Comfortable with public speaking to small and large groups
m) Possess the ability to understand and to keep current on issues related to safety and security
n) Access to a reliable vehicle for ministry-related travel/errands

Key Duties and Responsibilities
a) Provides strategic leadership in conjunction with Lead Pastor to coordinate ministries
b) Oversees all programming and ministry for children from infancy to latency, including Sunday Kids Church, Summer Kids’ Camps, and other special events and programs related to children
c) Recruits, trains, builds and leads volunteer teams to minister effectively to children
d) Implements appropriate, relevant, and exciting curriculum for each age level and program
e) Creates programs for each age group that will facilitate learning and encourage spiritual growth
f) Maintains ministry database with accurate, current, and accessible information
g) Provides care for children and families including hospital visitation and home visits and follow-up
h) Creates and implements strategies for reaching and integrating new families into the church
i) Oversees ministry expenditures with fiscally responsible management of ministry budget
j) Serves on Pastoral Team to provide other ministries to the congregation and community
k) Perform other tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Lead Pastor and Board



Education Required

Minimum College or University education related to ministry position such as Early Childhood Educator Diploma or Child and Youth Worker Diploma or equivalent



Experience Required

Minimum 3 years paid employed in the field of children’s ministry
