Murray's Ride to Thrive Recap Video

“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” Galatians 6:10

COVID-19 has impacted our friends and partners in the Majority World much more than we here in North America. Many of our international partners, pastors and leaders already struggle with poverty, conflict, persecution, inadequate healthcare, etc. and now they must face the ramifications of a worldwide pandemic. Their churches, Bible colleges and ministries are unable to meet and many do not have adequate internet for livestream services or classes. The economies in these contexts are crashing and their governments cannot help. We are regularly hearing that our partners are struggling to provide for their families; they are struggling to meet the needs in their communities. They are reaching out to us for help.

International Missions, together with PAOC’s humanitarian arm, Emergency, Relief and Development Overseas (ERDO), are responding as best we can. But the other day, as I was out riding my bike and praying, I felt impressed that we need to do more. We need to make a substantial contribution to those who are most impacted. The Bible instructs us that “as we have the opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially those who are of the household of faith.”

So, together with some friends, I am going to do a fundraising ride of 100kms on Saturday, August 1, 2020. We want to raise a significant amount of money to help our colleagues and friends in multiple countries survive this pandemic.

For them….survival means food. Their families need to eat.
