Tragedy in Northern Kenya

PRAY for the family of Mildred Kwang, Yesterday morning at 10:00am, Mildred, wife and mother, was on her way to the garden near Lochor Emeyan, 5 kms away from Namoruputh. She was attacked, raped, shot and slaughtered! Mildred was the 2nd ChildCARE Plus Nursery school teacher in Lochor Emeyan. She rode her bicycle every morning from Namoruputh, taught the children and rode back, 8 km one way. The very road she pioneered on, to bring the light of Jesus to the children, is the same road where darkness held her captive. Mildred's husband, Peter, is the chairman of the Namoruputh Health Centre and they have four children, Benita, Beldina, Rachel and Jotham. (Mildred is pictured with Jotham) Peter is also the head teacher of the Namoruputh Primary School. Pray for the entire Loima community as they try to make sense of this extremely rare and horrific incident. Pray for Mildred's family as they grieve this incredible loss. Pray for the police in Namoruputh that they would have wisdom and would find the perpetrators. Pray for global worker Deborah Sirjoosingh as she tries to process and deal with this devastating situation.

d2ccf08d-9212-45da-a5b4-4f505e3614a3 PRAISE God for faithful global workers and faithful churches across Canada who are supporting our 100 Points of Light initiative. We've heard awesome stories and reports from the two Sundays.  (This picture shows the Chan family at Colwood Church in Victoria)  100 Points of Light continues with the challenge to send 100 new workers in the next five years and raise one million dollars for start up costs for these new workers. We serve an amazing God who can do all we ask or imagine. And we partner with an awesome fellowship of churches who have great capacity and generous hearts.

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" Romans 10:13-15 (NIV)

OUR VISION:  to send 100 NEW Global Workers in the next five years.
OUR GOAL:  to raise $1,000,000.00 to send these new Global Workers

Alejandro Cetrulo - URUGUAY

PRAY
for global worker Alejandro. He is asking for prayer for his health as he has been ill. The doctors are doing tests but so far they cannot find the source of his illness. He is asking that you pray for complete healing of his body, for wisdom for the doctors, and that God would encourage this family.

Global Retreat 2018

PRAY for our Global Workers who begin their days together in Sydney, B.C. Pray that there will be lots of laughter, pray that friendships are made, encouragement given and received.  Pray that we will experience a visitation from God that will renew our hearts and shape our futures. Like John on the Island of Patmos, we pray that the Lord will place his hand on us and we will have a fresh revelation of Jesus, “the First and the Last, the Living One… who is alive for ever and ever.” (Rev 1: 17 – 18).

PRAY also that our MK's (missionary kids) will connect well with each other and make lasting friendships.
