Dear Friends:

Collectively, as a family of Christ followers across the nation, we offer our thanks to God that Kevin Garratt has been reunited with Julia and his family and is back home on Canadian soil. We thank the Lord for preserving and protecting him through this difficult ordeal. We honour Kevin and Julia for their steadfast grace, faith and peace throughout these 775 days.

We also thank their family for continually calling us to pray, to remember, and with the spirit of Christ, to advocate with the authorities. May the Lord bless the entire family.

We also thank all of you in our churches for continually making this a matter of prayer and say thank you to the many who wrote letters to MPs, to the Department of Foreign Affairs and to our Prime Minister. May the Lord bless Canada and our leaders.

Let us continue to pray for Kevin and Julia and their family. Let us pray for their spiritual, emotional, relational, and physical restoration. May the name of the Lord be glorified through this family in all they do and say and may they “enjoy good health and [may all] go well with [them], even as [their] soul is getting along well” (3 John 2, NIV).

It was Paul who said, “because of my chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly” (Philippians 1:14). May we all be inspired and encouraged to proclaim the truth of gospel, the good news that Christ the Saviour died for all and that whoever believes in Him will be saved.
