Over 400 children are sponsored through ChildCARE Plus (CCP) in Tanzania. These children are from families that are struggling to provide for their basic needs. Many of the families are broken or separated and children live with only one parent, grandparent or other relatives. ChildCARE Plus helps ensure that children receive a balanced diet and have the school supplies needed for school. The CCP program helps children physically, spiritually and intellectually. It helps to ensure that children go to school and also receive a basic food assistance at home along with personal hygiene items. The administrators are able to ensure that families hear the gospel and connect with local churches for their spiritual growth.

Children learn about Jesus through monthly meetings which bring the children together for a time of worship, prayer and Bible lessons. The CCP administrators also try to connect children with their local churches if they are not already attending a church so that they may receive teaching on a regular basis.

The ChildCARE Plus administrators testify that it is very true that children tend to continue in faith and to serve Christ when they have learned the gospel early in life.  Even if they spend some time away from the church they still remember the foundation and usually find themselves back in a church family and realizing their need for salvation, more so than children who have not received any faith foundation.

David Rishi graduated from high school and the ChildCARE Plus program and entered university last fall. David is studying to become a doctor and received a government sponsorship for his schooling. He was sponsored for most of his life and recognizes God’s hand through the help of CCP. David became a part of his local church through ChildCARE Plus.
