Urgent Message From International Missions

Prayer and Support Needed!

Dear Friends,

I am writing to you about an important and pressing issue that is facing our global workers. We thought it critical to update you as soon as possible.

On July I, 2014 our Canadian dollar was worth .94 cent to the America dollar. Today, as I write to you, it is now worth just .81 cents and has gone as low as .78 cents. This is a decline of 14-18% in less than a year. This sudden and significant decline has negatively affected many of our global workers’ budgets.

We wanted you all to know that we are aware of the situation and we are doing our best with God’s wisdom to respond. Here is what we have done at International Missions to support and care for our global workers during this season.

  1. We have allowed our global workers to submit a revised budget starting on May 1, 2015 to help offset the loss due to the currency fluctuation.
  2. This has also impacted some salaries. For this reason, we approved an “exchange supplement” of 2% to the current salary amount. This benefit is available to any global worker currently on the field or out of Canada for the majority of the year.
  3. We have asked their supporting churches to consider increasing their monthly support by 10% for the next 12 months.

We have a simple but powerful request, would you please pray? Would you ask others to pray? This way we will pray together in the spirit of Philippians 4:6, Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

We are not asking you to worry; we are asking you pray with us and give thanks to God for His immense provision and for all He is doing around the world.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 905-542-7400, Ext. 4252 or by email at keith.waara@paoc.org.

Your partnership and support of our global work is vital and we can’t thank you enough for your assistance in this challenging time.

Kindest regards and blessings,
