This light manufacturing business located in Southeast Asia has expertise in processing, designing, and manufacturing products using a range of ethically sourced and sustainable natural materials. It currently makes a range of accessories for the global market, exporting to UK, USA, and Europe, and has technical expertise transferable to a range of sectors. The production facilities are located in one of the poorest regions of the country and it is an honour and privilege to serve a chronically poor community through secure, upskilling jobs and other social impact endeavours. There are currently over 150 employees; 40 additional employees having been recruited in the last couple of years.
There is a need to further augment the team’s capacity and capability through the appointment of a like-minded, high-level manufacturing professional and to this end the company is recruiting an operations director who would be responsible for leading and developing the operations team in Southeast Asia. The focus of the role is on strengthening the national leadership team to equip and empower them to run a strong operation and function independently. Responsibilities would include oversight of production, logistics and finance functions. The qualified candidate would have 5+ years of professional work experience within or transferable to a manufacturing environment and possess a proven track record of successfully leading a team. S/he should thrive working in a cross-cultural context and ideally have cross-cultural experience.
