We are deeply saddened by the news that our global worker, David Wood, passed into the presence of the Lord on September 22, 2022.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Julie, and their children, Chelsea and David, their extended family, members of their church and PAOC family, and all who knew and loved him.

Ministry Focus: Dave and Julie Wood are Global Workers whose ministry focus is in the city of Port Vila, in the South Pacific nation of Vanuatu.

The Woods are serving as pastors at International Christian Church, an assembly that ministers to the many international people groups in the city. Gifted in evangelism and discipleship, they are reaching out to the entire community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Seeing people come to know Jesus and to make Him their Lord and Saviour has always been a high priority for the Wood's ministry. As well as preaching, Dave is developing a strong leadership team at the church, and also teaches periodically at the local Bible School, Joy Bible Institute.  He enjoys mentoring men in ministry, and daily Christ-like living.  Julie excels at inspiring women through small groups and mentoring, in various aspects of discipleship and life.  She has also taken on some of the church administration work.

Recently, the Woods have begun a building program as International Christian Church has grown significantly, and no longer fits in the building they have been renting.  ICC has now purchased their own piece of land, and initial ground work and building has begun.  They are looking to build a church that will house 500+ people with separate children and youth ministry areas. The vision for this campus is that it will be a thriving centre for the people in the city to frequent throughout the week for ministry; meeting needs in a practical way and sharing love and providing community.

Ministry History: David and Julie have been serving in ministry with The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada since 1987.

Growing up in Alberta, their Canadian pastoral ministry has been in Ontario, British Columbia, and back in Alberta.

Dave graduated from Northwest Bible College, now Vanguard, in Edmonton.  Julie received her Education degree from the University of Alberta.  Together they have been a power team used by God to touch the lives of many people of all ages throughout their years of ministry.

The call to the mission field came in 2014, and they moved to Port Vila, Vanuatu, in August 2015.  Their passion is for seeing people come to Jesus, and to disciple them in their Christian faith.

Prayer Request:

1. Pray that the Lord will pour out His Spirit in Port Vila, that many would find Jesus as their personal Saviour, and would seek to follow Him daily
2. Pray that the Lord would provide the needed resources for building our new church
3. Pray that the Lord of the Harvest would continue to bring more leaders to assist us in discipleship and training.
4. Pray that the Lord would guide and direct us, strengthen us, and sustain us.
