Location: Uganda, Africa
Ministry History: Ken and Marge MacGowan were married in 1968 with the view of fulfilling their call to Africa as missionaries. Ken is a third generation missionary (their daughter, Lynda represented the fourth). Growing up in French Canada prepared them for missionary terms in Zambia, Kenya, and Uganda. Their children, Gord (married with four children, serving as a pastor in St John's, Newfoundland), Allan (married with two children, living in Ottawa), and Lynda (married with four children, serving with her husband, Mike, at Tobermory following almost 8 years in the far north of Canada at Bearskin Lake), treasure their years growing up in Africa. Sherry, born in Nairobi in 1990, enjoyed boarding school, and has made the transition back to Canada.
Ministry Focus: Most recently, the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada appointed them to help train African missionaries in Uganda. For 15 months they made regular trips to Uganda while serving on staff at Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church, Burlington, as "Missionary in Residence".
