Ministry Focus: Cartland and his late wife, Mildred, are founders of the C. Palmer Project of Hope Skills Training Centre in Jamaica. Cartland offers skills training to young men and women in and around their community in fields such as welding, electrical services, cosmetology, computer repairs, and web page design. Over 600 young adults have attended various programs in the last 10 years, increasing their chances for employment and entrepreneurship.
In this effort, Cartland works closely with The Heart Trust (a government sponsored skills funding program), the local District of Churches, as well as other community groups and leaders.
Project of Hope is a registered not-for-profit undertaking in Jamaica. Cartland and Mildred have invested of their time, energy and their own resources to get this project where it is. Cartland recognizes he can only remain successful with the ongoing support of friends and missions partners such as you.
Prayer Requests:
- That God would lead more students to the program and help find employment upon completion.
- That trainees would develop a rich relationship with God.
- For God’s protection over the campus, and for provision of funds for fencing to increase security.
