Ministry Location: Kigali Rwanda
Ministry Focus: Norm, an engineer, has had previous construction experience. In 2013 he project managed a 1000 seat chapel at the TransAfrican Theological College in Kitwe Zambia. He will be project managing the construction of a trades training centre and church associated with the Christian Life Assembly in Kigali Rwanda.
The trades training centre is to develop useable skills for employment. The church is growing with expansion needs.
Karen has a degree in business and accounting and owns her own accounting business. Karen has been doing contract work in micro financing and business coaching for over 15 years helping small business with startups and growth. She will be working also in Rwanda with the Mercy Ministry and is hoping to help with micro financing and business development in the Rwanda.
They will depart for Rwanda in mid May, 2017 for a period of no less than 6 months to up to 2 years with a goal of completing the construction.
During that time, Karen will build relationships with the people of Rwanda and intends to help them to assess what their needs are. Once the assessment is completed she will help the people develop a plan so they will be successful in their business ventures.
Rwanda had gone through one of the most brutal genocide. It was one of the worst in modern history.
The genocide occurred as a tribal issue resulting in many deaths leaving the country with many people without skills, poverty.
The president has made many inroads in changing the the overall structure and improving their lives. Rwanda is one of the poorest nations in the world.
