Ministry Location: Tanzania, Africa
Ministry Focus: Jonathan and Kirsten van Breevoort feel called to Tanzania, East Africa to work with Pamoja Ministries, where they are preparing for full time ministry as facility managers. Their experience in trades, for both of them, includes carpentry, masonry and mechanical/refrigeration work, and their desire is to use this experience to benefit the Body of Christ abroad. With their Bible College training and experience in other kinds of ministry, Jonathan and Kirsten have the potential to diversify in other forms of ministry as well should the need arise. The trip they are currently on in Tanzania and the trip they plan for the winter of 2017/2018 will be to develop the required skills and knowledge needed to eventually go full time. When they are back in Canada in between their trips they intend to continue developing these skills. By the time they go full time, they want to know the language, have a working understanding of the culture, and be able to be effective as facility managers.
Ministry History: Kirsten has felt a calling to go to Africa since she was a teenager. After high school she received a diploma at Rocky Mountain Bible College and went off into the world. She has done disaster relief in Haiti, low income housing construction in Mexico and worked with child sex trafficking victims in Myanmar, as well as a variety of volunteer work at her church back in Canada.
Jonathan has grown up as the son of a Pastor and church planter and been involved in many aspects of church ministry as well. Jonathan is also currently finishing his Bachelors in Religion through Faith Evangelical Seminary.
Prayer Request: That God would train and equip us for the ministry he has for us at Pamoja
