Ministry Focus: Dave Boyce is happily married to Tana, his wife of 32 plus years. Dave and Tana are the proud parents of three adult children, proud parents in-law to their three wonderful spouses and proud grand parents of six beautiful grandchildren. Dave is a recently retired RCMP officer from Vancouver Island and a current church board member of Generations Church, Nanaimo, BC. He is currently completing the STM Network Mid Term Missions Course and finalizing arrangements to join Dave Wood and the ministries he leads at the International Christian Church in the city of Port Vila, in the South Pacific nation of Vanuatu from August through December 2019. Dave will first and foremost be focusing on supporting Dave Wood's ministry, which will include hands on front line work of the ICC; assisting and mentoring with kids and youth ministries and crusades in the church and community; assisting with the prison ministry for all security levels, including inmates, and guards and assisting with coordination of a one time event to bless the Vanuatu Police Force during a one time event hosted by the ICC, sharing his testimony and perhaps some lessons learned during his RCMP career and during his walk with Christ.
Ministry History: Dave started seeking ministry as a vocation as he was preparing to enter high school in Ontario. Interestingly, his church pastor suggested that if he could stay away from ministry he should! Dave joined the RCMP as his vocation but kept his sights on ministry, considering it an option following his retirement from the RCMP. During his first RCMP posting in Saskatchewan, and in support of a small prairie Anglican Church in Borden, Dave was blessed to become a certified lay pastor in the Anglican Diocese of Saskatoon under Bishop Roland, conducting services in the absence of the full time minister. Throughout his life, Dave has participated in men's bible studies; men's camp ministries; small groups and care groups; drama ministries in most capacities and church board duties. He has been the camp director and guest speaker for children's church camp. As he approached retirement, Dave still felt the call to ministry in some capacity. During the 100 Points of Light campaign in May 2018, Dave felt an overwhelming need to let God use him in missions, praying accordingly. On Pentecost Sunday, May 15, 2018, the Holy Spirit moved a third party to call Dave directly to missions, when he had not yet retired. Dave has retired and commenced course training for missions, receiving an invitation to support Dave Wood's ministry in Vanuatu. Dave wants to serve where God leads.
- Pray that the Lord will pour out His Spirit in Port Vila, that many would find Jesus as their personal Saviour, and would seek to follow Him daily.
- Pray that the Lord would provide the needed resources for building the new International Christian Church in Port Vila.
- Pray that the Lord of the Harvest would continue to bring more leaders to assist Dave Wood in discipleship and training.
- Pray that the Lord would guide, direct, strengthen and sustain the Woods and all those assisting their ministries.
