MISSION CANADA CAMPUS APPRENTICE
Ministry Location: Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, BC
Ministry Focus: Campus Ministry

Monica was raised going to church and being active in the children, youth, and worship ministries in church. After graduating high school, she had questions about her family’s faith during her upbringing and wanted to develop a true personal relationship with God for herself. Upon entering Simon Fraser University in 2017, Monica became an active member and core facilitator with University Christian Ministries (UCM). She realized how valuable campus ministry was in reaching young adults who were curious about faith, had never heard the gospel, or had grown up going to church (like her) and now wanted to grow in their walk with God both personally and with others.

Monica so enjoys leading core studies, having one-on-one discipleship meetings, doing campus outreach events, and being in fellowship with students because it has allowed Monica to see God’s heart for His people. Monica is excited to continue seeing God work on campuses during her new chapter as a Campus Ministry Apprentice, where she will be able to expand her pastoral skills to grow God’s kingdom.

Where do your donations go?

Your donation supports Monica as she works on campus to create spaces for university students so they can encounter God in a meaningful way through prayer, community-building, holistic worship, and discipleship. Additionally, your support helps campus workers like Monica as they fight the spiritual battle on campus and intentionally reach out to those who do not yet know Jesus. They use outreach events like their Missions Week and Alpha program with interactive sessions. Campus ministry is about changed lives, and Monica feels so blessed to witness it first-hand.
