The Persecuted Church

Today, over 365 million Christians all over the world are being persecuted for their faith, especially within restricted-access countries where following Jesus is forbidden.

Imagine waking up each day knowing that your faith could cost you your freedom---or even your life. Christian persecution remains one of the most significant human rights issues happening in our time. Today, over 365 million Christians all over the world are being persecuted for their faith, especially within restricted-access countries where following Jesus is forbidden.

These statistics present some of the challenges Christians have faced for standing firm in their beliefs in 2023:

  • 14,766 Churches and Christian properties were attacked.

  • 4,125 Christians have been detained for their beliefs.

  • 4,998 Christians were killed for their faith.

Despite these heartbreaking realities, our Christian brothers and sisters around the world continue to witness for Christ---no matter the cost. As we enter November, which holds the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church, we invite you to join us in lifting up those who face unimaginable challenges for their faith.

Last year, we focused our prayers on those in desperate need of support: Pakistani Christians within the city of Jaranwala who witnessed a tragic event, as a 7,000-member mob destroyed churches and homes, leaving countless families devastated.

Your prayers and support have played a vital role in providing relief for those in need. Yet, many are still struggling to rebuild their lives, especially after this unprecedented attack. Will you continue to stand in prayer for these persecuted Christians?

Here are some resources for you to use as you pray.
