God is Good by the Paluch-Chiriseri family

Have you ever heard the saying ‘God is good’?  Have you ever really thought about what it means?  There are lots of ways to describe God’s goodness.  He is kind, loving, helpful, caring and He provides for us.

All of these things are true… God is also good when He directs our lives when He shows us what He wants us to do.  And then He doesn’t only just show us, He leads us on the right path and teaches us new things almost every day.

We can definitely say that God is good!

God is teaching us that we have to put Him first.  That we have to spend time with Him so that we are able to reach out and help others.  Sometimes it is easy to be so focused on the work that has to be done that we can forget about the most important thing – our relationship with God.  Does that ever happen to you?  When you are so busy with school or activities or sports that you say ‘I don’t have time for God, or I do not have time to pray’?

One way that God is teaching us this is through Hannah.  She loves to sing and dance, and we can always hear her singing worship songs, or she likes to teach ‘Sunday school’ to her dolls and lines them all up in a row and prays with them and gives them papers and stickers.

God reminds us, through 2-year-old Hannah, that He is the most important thing, and that He is the one that helps us to do all the things that we need to do.  Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.

Another way that God is teaching us, is every day we ask each other ‘What are you thankful for today?’.  This helps us to focus on our blessings – even if we have had a difficult day, we can refocus on the joy that living for God brings to our lives.  And if we say something and Hannah thinks we have not said everything, she will ask us, ‘Is that all you are thankful for today?’

She reminds us that no matter how old or young we are, that God can use us to glorify His name and show other people His love. 1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Do no let anyone look down on you because you are young”.

We would love if you could pray for us:
that God would keep us healthy and strong
that God would help us to make good decisions that expand His Kingdom
that we would find a good school for Hannah to attend and make lots of friends!
