Week of March 20, 2017
HORN OF AFRICA
A shortage of rain from October to December 2016 has led to a drought in Kenya and Ethiopia, and famine is now a possibility in Somalia. More than 15 million people are facing food and water shortages, and the next rainfall is not expected until March to May, with rains possibly being below average. Please pray that God will bless the area with lots of rain and that aid supplies will reach the areas of greatest need, especially aid from ERDO, which will provide food assistance through their partners. Pray for lasting peace and security in these regions, and that God will encourage and guide the PAOC global workers who reside and minister there.
Phil & Judy Bowler
SENEGAL
Pray for Phil, Judy, and their children, as they minister to and serve the people around them.Pray for Judy as she teaches and strengthens women. Pray for Phil as he assists in strengthening and stabilizing the various programs at Bible colleges in Senegal, Liberia, and Guinea. Pray that the love of God will rule in Senegal and that there will be a further move of the Spirit to bring salvation. Pray also for continued healings as people reach out to Him.
ETHIOPIA
Please pray for everyone involved in the accident at the garbage dump last week after a mountain of trash collapsed, killing 113 people. Three days of national mourning were declared by the Ethiopian parliament. Pray for the physical and emotional healing of those injured and for the families and friends of those who were killed. Pray for our global workers serving in this region, and for opportunities for the gospel to spread, so that many people will find comfort and hope in Christ. Pray also that the people who lived in the dump will be relocated to better homes and receive what they need to live a more stable life.
