LOCATION: Port-au-Prince, Haiti
TRANSFORMATIONAL IMPACT: Our vision is to witness more young people and children come to Christ while also providing them access to education, to give them hope for a brighter future.
MINISTRY FOCUS: Haiti has an average income of US $4.75 per day. According to the UN, nearly half the population battle with extreme poverty and many families struggle to feed themselves.
In response to these sobering needs, we focus especially on ministering to the youth and children of Haiti. As the pastors of our Pentecostal church, in the capital city of Port-au-Prince, we organize and run a Sunday school with an average attendance of 700-800. I (Michel) am also the principal of our ChildCARE Plus school that teaches over 700 students from kindergarten to Grade 13. Our school seeks to work with the neediest families of our community.
After more than 20 years of operating this school, we have witnessed hundreds of graduates go onto to obtain higher education. We have also seen many of these students and their families come to faith in Jesus.
YOUR IMPACT: You will help bring the gospel to more young people and children in Haiti, to see the power of the Spirit’s presence at work within this nation that desperately needs God.
MINISTRY HISTORY: Graduating in 1980 from the Timothy Program, I (Michel) began pastoring with the Home Missions Department in Eastern Quebec from 1980-1986. I then felt called to become a missionary evangelist with Mission Global to the Ivory Coast, West Africa, from 1986-1995. We ministered there as a family and then later became global workers in Haiti in 1996. We have three children: Naomi, Pierre, and Max. We also are proud grandparents to seven grandchildren.
