Mission Canada Worker
at the University of Manitoba

Suppose you had to reformat the hard drive of your computer and update the software. You know a little bit about how computers function, but not enough to tackle this daunting task without help. If given the choice between receiving help over the phone, or in person, you would surely choose the latter.

Now suppose that you are a university student who is experiencing major life transitions and making significant life decisions. Is there anyone who is willing to come, in person, and walk with you through life's challenges?

Suppose God were to call  the wife of a pastor and the mother of four young children to walk alongside students in these circumstances. The Lord has given her passion, a burden for the lost, and a dream, as well as the skills and the opportunity to go. Would you send her? At the University of Manitoba, Mission Canada has. It's me.

Through our new student group, Segue, I have the privilege of helping students build a strong faith foundation that will carry them through the transitions, decisions, and challenges of life. Segue volunteers are present and involved in students lives as they navigate through their young adult years, helping them to build relationships and develop a positive community of believers on campus. Through Segue, we seek to inspire leaders, student groups, and businesses to creatively work together to help people in need. In a sea of more than 27,000 students at the University of Manitoba, we are walking out God's love in ways that are being noticed.

Tammy Junghans is a wife, mother, and Mission Canada Worker at the University of Manitoba.
